About us

We’re two comrade explorers with a shared interest in the ‘redder’ corners of the world.

Together, we’ve travelled to China, North Korea and around the former DDR (East Germany). We’re currently planning a trip to Romania in April 2026.

We’re certainly no travel experts. This blog is simply a place to share our experiences, photographs and recommendations from trips that explore revolutionary history and take us a little further off the beaten track than the destinations you might find in your local travel agent.
